Humbrol Matt Enamel Varnish (colour no. 49) is a clear, oil-based varnish that dries to a flat, non-reflective finish, making it ideal for projects requiring a subdued, realistic surface.

This varnish is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is formulated to protect enamel-painted surfaces while maintaining their detail and tone. It dries to the touch in 20-40 minutes, fully hardens within 24 hours, and forms a permanent, scratch-resistant layer. It can be applied with a brush or thinned for airbrush use and bonds well to a wide variety of surfaces including wood, plastic, metal, ceramics, and cardboard. This varnish is perfect for finishing military models, terrain pieces, and wargaming miniatures where a matt finish enhances realism and reduces glare.
