Lift Ability and Helium Capacities
Check out our below charts to see the approximate lift ability and helium capacities for a range of latex, foil, bubble and clearz balloons. Lift ability and gas capacity will differ between manufacturers.
Lift Ability
Sometimes you may need to know how much weight a balloon is capable of lifting,
a) to calculate how much weight is required to hold it down* and
b) to see if it is capable of carrying extra weight, usually in the form of confetti, tulle, card/photos, stickers or gems**
Helium capacities
Once you know a balloon’s helium capacity, you can estimate how many balloons you’ll be able to inflate using your helium cylinder. It is also important to factor the amount of helium used into your pricing.
Latex Balloons
Foil Balloons
Bubble Balloons
Clearz Balloons
*Please note that the weights provided in the chart below are the minimum required to ground a balloon inflated to the correct size. However, in certain conditions, such as outdoors or in draughty air-conditioned environments, the balloon may drag. In these circumstances, additional weight will be required. Equally, if the balloon has been over-inflated, the weight stated may not be enough.
**Please also note that any additional weight added to the balloon will reduce the length of time the balloon will stay afloat.
